Ross Rogers Golf Complex is Amarillo's premier public golf facility, featuring two 18-hole championship courses — the Mustang and WildHorse. Built in 1940 as a Works Progress Administration project and named for Mayor Ross D. Rogers, the complex was expanded to 36 holes by 1978 and has undergone major redesigns to become one of the finest public golf facilities in Texas.
The Dallas Morning News ranked Ross Rogers the #1 economy course in Texas, with both the Mustang and WildHorse courses finishing in the top 4 statewide. In June 2026, Ross Rogers will host a Korn Ferry Tour Monday Qualifier — further confirming its championship caliber.

Redesigned 2011–12
The WildHorse underwent a complete redesign and has been voted Amarillo's best golf course every year since reopening. A beautiful complement to the Mustang, featuring modern design and excellent conditioning.
In June 2026, Ross Rogers Golf Complex will host a Korn Ferry Tour Monday Qualifier — the developmental tour for the PGA Tour. The Cleve Austin tournament takes place just weeks before, on the same championship layout that will test aspiring PGA Tour professionals.
Ross Rogers Golf Complex was built in 1940 as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project during the final years of the New Deal. Named for Ross D. Rogers, who served as Amarillo's mayor during the Depression era, the course was one of many public works projects that shaped the city's infrastructure.
The original 18-hole layout served Amarillo for nearly four decades before being expanded to 36 holes by 1978. Major course redesigns in 2004 (Mustang) and 2011–12 (WildHorse) transformed the complex into the championship-caliber facility it is today.
